Being home by myself a lot, I’ve been watching (too much) TV on my computer. I gravitate toward the science-fiction shows pretty immediately when presented with all the choices.
Most of the shows I’ve been watching this last year have a common stylistic theme.
Dreariness.
Dark lighting. Bent characters. Humor of the most cynical sort.
It gets to be a bit much, which is why this two minutes and thirty-five seconds of watching Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tom Hopper dance in episode six of The Umbrella Academy is such a delight. King Harvest’s Dancing in the Moonlight (performed here by Toploader) is one of the great feel-good songs and I love how the dancing is simple and understated. Enjoy.
